2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise AI Coding Agents

Over 70% of the Fortune 500 now use Cursor to deploy and manage coding agents across the software development lifecycle. We believe the trust they place in Cursor, and this recognition from Gartner, reflect the platform we've been building for the next era of AI software development: one where developers orchestrate large teams of agents that do most of the work of building and maintaining software.

Continuing to push the frontier

The next year of Cursor is about making that platform more intelligent, efficient, and flexible. We're focusing on three areas:

  • Frontier intelligence. We're scaling up our in-house model training to push frontier capabilities for long-running coding agents, most recently with Composer 2.5. To accelerate this work, Cursor is partnering with SpaceXAI to build a future model from scratch.
  • Agent automation across the SDLC. Cursor agents already review and fix pull requests with Bugbot, find and patch vulnerabilities through dedicated security agents, and run on triggers and schedules via Automations. Teams can build their own with the Cursor SDK.
  • Enterprise controls, collaboration, and flexibility. We're deepening enterprise controls with new admin integrations, agent controls, and analytics dashboards, and extending self-hosted cloud agents to more regulated industries and regions.
