Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.

About the role

As a Regional Security Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations and support events within your region while leveraging and managing security technologies that keep our people, offices, and assets secure. You wil also help with the development of longer-term strategy, lending your expertise to influence the creation of physical security solutions that will scale with the company’s rapid growth.

Working closely with and supporting the Head of Physical Security Operations, this role will represent Global Security to a wide-range of internal and external partners to ensure our workplaces are safe, efficient, and aligned with Cursor’s culture of precision and trust. Due to the operational nature of this role, it is required in-office 5 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Manage daily onsite security operations for our New York City offices, with additional locations to come as we scale.

  • Oversee external security vendors, security technology systems (e.g. Verkada, Hivewatch, Envoy), and coordination with building management.

  • Oversee visitor management, access control, and alarm response in your areas of responsibility.

  • Contribute to and ensure compliance with physical security policies, playbooks, and emergency procedures.

  • Conduct periodic risk assessments and facility audits as directed, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing remediation strategies.

  • Partner with local leadership on business continuity and crisis response planning.

  • Contribute to investigations as required.

  • Provide security leadership and on-site support for on and off-site Cursor events

You may be a fit if

  • 7+ years of experience as a physical security leader in the technology sector, with startup experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage site and regional security programs, including access control, visitor management, risk management, and emergency response with exposure to multi-site environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of access control and surveillance systems, protective intelligence software, and PSIM tools, with experience in basic system administration and vendor relationship management.

  • Excellent judgment and communication skills, with a track record of clear, level-headed decision-making during incidents or investigations.

  • Experience working with external entities like landlords, construction teams, event vendors, and law enforcement partners.

  • Able to balance immediate operational needs (e.g., resolving alarms, managing contractors, onboarding new sites) with long-term planning for scalability and resilience.
