Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.

About the role

At Cursor, Recruiting is one of the most important functions in the company. We believe every hire changes the trajectory of the business, and recruiters are expected to operate as strategic partners to leaders.

As a GTM Recruiter, you will be responsible for building and scaling the teams that drive Cursor's growth, including Sales, Field Engineering, Customer Success, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, and GTM Leadership. You will partner directly with leaders to define talent strategy, shape org design, calibrate hiring bars, and attract exceptional talent.

This is a highly visible role with significant ownership and influence. You will be expected to think like a business leader, challenge assumptions, bring market intelligence to the table, and help us make some of the most important decisions in the company: who we hire and how we scale.

The best recruiters at Cursor are talent magnets, trusted advisors, exceptional operators, and relentless talent evaluators who care deeply about quality, speed, and candidate experience.

What you’ll do

  • Partner directly with GTM leaders to understand business goals, hiring priorities, and organizational needs.

  • Act as a strategic talent advisor, helping leaders define roles, build teams, and make informed hiring decisions.

  • Own the end-to-end recruiting process from kickoff through close, driving urgency and excellence at every stage.

  • Build and execute talent strategies for critical and high-impact searches across the GTM organization.

  • Identify, engage, and close exceptional talent through proactive outreach, referrals, networking, and relationship building.

  • Maintain an exceptionally high hiring bar and serve as a trusted voice in talent assessment and calibration discussions.

  • Bring market insights, competitive intelligence, and talent trends to leaders to inform hiring strategy and workforce planning.

  • Drive an outstanding candidate experience while ensuring every interaction reflects Cursor's values and culture.

  • Partner with hiring managers to continuously improve interview design, hiring rigor, and selection processes.

  • Influence offer strategy, negotiation, and close plans for top candidates.

  • Leverage data and recruiting metrics to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and drive better hiring outcomes.

  • Help build scalable recruiting programs, processes, and best practices as we continue to grow.

You may be a fit if

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally within high-growth technology companies.

  • Experience hiring GTM talent across Sales, Field Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, or GTM Leadership.

  • Proven ability to operate as a strategic partner to executives and hiring managers.

  • Strong sourcing and talent mapping skills with a track record of identifying and engaging top-tier talent.

  • Exceptional assessment skills and strong judgment around talent, hiring, and team building.

  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to challenge, advise, and build trust with senior stakeholders.

  • Strong operational rigor and ability to manage multiple high-priority searches simultaneously.

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use insights and metrics to improve outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success closing highly competitive candidates.

  • High agency, strong ownership mentality, and a bias toward action.

  • Excitement about AI, developer tools, and helping build one of the most important companies in software.
