Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.

About the role

We’re looking for a Regional Vice President, Aerospace & Defense to lead Cursor’s go-to-market efforts across aerospace, defense, space, and commercial aviation accounts.

This leader will own a strategic book of business across agencies, primes, integrators, and commercial aerospace organizations, helping bring AI-powered developer tools into some of the world’s most complex and mission-critical engineering environments.

You’ll be responsible for building executive relationships, developing account strategy, driving large enterprise opportunities, and helping shape a repeatable motion for the vertical. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, solutions, and leadership to navigate regulated environments, complex procurement cycles, and stringent security and deployment requirements.

This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who understands the aerospace and defense ecosystem, can operate deeply with customers, and knows how to turn early traction into durable enterprise growth.

We’re an in-person company with offices in San Francisco and New York, and we value tight collaboration across teams.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive Cursor’s aerospace and defense go-to-market execution across a portfolio of strategic accounts

  • Develop account plans and pipeline across defense, space, primes, integrators, and commercial aviation organizations

  • Build and expand executive relationships with agencies, defense contractors, systems integrators, and aerospace leaders

  • Lead complex enterprise sales cycles from discovery through close, including pilots, technical validation, procurement, security review, and expansion

  • Navigate long procurement cycles and multi-stakeholder buying processes across government, contractor, and commercial ecosystems

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, solutions, and security teams to align customer requirements with Cursor’s roadmap and deployment model

  • Identify repeatable use cases, reference customers, and partnership opportunities that accelerate adoption in the vertical

  • Represent Cursor externally with senior customers, partners, and industry stakeholders

  • Contribute to the hiring, coaching, and development of the aerospace sales team as the business scales

You may be a fit if

  • You’ve led strategic enterprise sales or regional/vertical sales efforts across aerospace, defense, federal, space, or adjacent regulated industries

  • You have deep experience selling into defense contractors, aerospace companies, systems integrators, or relevant government agencies

  • You have a proven track record closing large, complex enterprise deals in regulated or mission-critical environments

  • You understand procurement, compliance, security, and deployment requirements across aerospace and defense customers

  • You bring an established network across primes, integrators, agencies, and/or key aerospace industry stakeholders

  • You’re comfortable operating as a hands-on seller and leader in an early-stage, high-ownership environment

  • You can build trusted executive relationships while also going deep with technical, security, procurement, and engineering stakeholders

  • You have strong judgment, account planning discipline, and the ability to create urgency in complex sales cycles

  • Interest in AI, developer tools, or highly technical products is a strong plus
