Recruiting Coordination Lead
People · Full-time · San Francisco, New York
ApplyOur mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
About the Role
As Recruiting Coordination Lead at Cursor, you'll own the end-to-end candidate experience and recruiting operations infrastructure that powers our ability to assess and hire world-class talent. You're leading the team that keeps things running on time, and building the systems, playbooks, and team culture that will define how candidates feel about Cursor as we grow.
You'll serve as the strategic partner to recruiting leadership and hiring managers while staying close enough to the work to roll up your sleeves when it matters. You bring the judgment to identify what's broken before anyone else notices, the initiative to fix it, and the people skills to bring others along with you.
This role is for you if you love building things from scratch, thrive in fast-moving environments, and find deep satisfaction in making complex operations feel effortless for everyone around you. The team you help hire today will shape what Cursor becomes, and you'll have had a direct hand in making that happen.
We're in-person five days a week in our cozy offices in North Beach, San Francisco.
What You'll Do
Hire, onboard, and develop a team of recruiting coordinators, setting a high bar for quality, responsiveness, and candidate experience.
Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex scheduling, candidate experience, or operational issues.
Design and implement scalable processes, templates, and playbooks that allow the coordination function to grow without sacrificing quality.
Define and track operational metrics (time-to-schedule, candidate experience scores, interviewer load balancing) and use data to drive continuous improvement.
Set the vision for a candidate experience that is warm, human, and memorable at every touchpoint from first outreach through offer.
Partner with recruiting leadership and hiring managers to ensure the team has capacity to support the business and interview processes are well-designed, consistently executed, and continuously refined.
You May Be a Fit If You…
Have 5+ years of experience in recruiting coordination or recruiting operations, with at least 1–2 years leading or mentoring others in a fast-paced technical environment.
Think in systems. You don't just fix the problem in front of you; you fix the root cause and build something so it doesn't happen again.
Balance strategic thinking with a bias for action. You move quickly, obsess over the details, and bring others along without slowing down.
People trust you, follow your lead, and feel supported by you.
Care deeply about the experience of every person in the hiring process and hold yourself accountable to making it great for all of them.
Are comfortable navigating ambiguity, making judgment calls with imperfect information, and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Bonus: hands-on experience with Ashby and a passion for getting the most out of recruiting technology.
