People Operations Coordinator

Apply

Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.

About the role

The People Operations Coordinator is often the first real experience someone has as an employee here. You'll be the person who makes new hires feel genuinely welcomed from offer letter to day one and beyond, while keeping all the behind-the-scenes HR machinery running smoothly and accurately.

This role is for you if you love checking things off a list and love people because you'll be doing a lot of both. You thrive when things are a little ambiguous, you default to figuring it out rather than waiting to be told, and you handle sensitive information like the pro you are.

This is an in-person role based in our San Francisco office.

What you’ll do

New Hire Experience

• Own the new hire coordination process end-to-end, from adding new hires into our HRIS to sending welcome communications.

• Run new hire orientation: greet employees on day one, guide them through onboarding, and make sure they leave feeling set up for success

• Be the main point of contact for new hires before they start, keeping communication warm, timely, and clear

Partner closely with IT, Workplace Operations, and Recruiting to make sure every new hire has everything they need for their first day

HR Operations & Data Integrity

• Maintain accurate employee data in Rippling, ensuring that new hires, terminations, job changes, and other lifecycle updates are reflected correctly and on time

Take ownership of people data accuracy across the full employee lifecycle, proactively flagging and resolving discrepancies before they become downstream issues

• Generate and send employment verification (VOE) letters and other standard HR documents with accuracy and care

• Respond to employee and cross-functional inquiries in #team-people on Slack with a friendly, helpful, and compliant response every time

General People Ops

• Support the broader People team with projects, process improvements, and whatever else comes up (and things will come up)

• Handle confidential employee information with discretion, always

You may be a fit if

• You have 1–3 years of experience in HR coordination or, People Ops, or a similar administrative/operational role

• You are genuinely detail-oriented: the kind of person who catches the typo, double-checks the date, and notices when something doesn't look right

• You're comfortable operating in ambiguity; you don't need every step spelled out to do great work

You bring a sense of urgency and follow-through to your work; things do not fall through the cracks on your watch

• People trust you with sensitive information, and you've never given them a reason not to

• You bring warmth to every interaction, whether it's a Slack message or welcoming someone on their first day

• You have experience with HRIS systems (bonus points for Rippling)
