Cancel your subscription

Cancel your plan in the dashboard. Keep access until your billing period ends.

How do I cancel a plan on The X Subscription?

  1. Go to grok.com/dashboard/billing
  2. Open the options on the Current plan card and choose to cancel
  3. Follow the prompts to confirm

See Managing The X Subscription for more.

What happens to my old plans when I switch to The X Subscription?

Switching cancels the Cursor, SuperGrok, and paid X Premium subscriptions you select, including Grok Bot subscriptions bought in the iOS or Android app, and refunds unused time. Only a Cursor subscription billed through the Apple App Store must be cancelled by you in your iPhone or iPad Settings. Any on-demand usage not yet invoiced is billed in one final invoice when you switch, and the switch waits until it's paid. See What is The X Subscription?.

How do I cancel a legacy Cursor plan?

  1. Go to cursor.com/dashboard/billing
  2. Click Manage in Stripe to open the Stripe billing portal
  3. Click Cancel Subscription and confirm

What if I subscribed through the iOS app?

In-app subscriptions are managed by Apple, not through cursor.com. Cursor can't cancel an in-app plan for you. See Subscribe from the iOS app for how to cancel through Apple.

What if I subscribed through the Android app?

Subscriptions bought in the Grok Bot Android app are managed by Google Play, not through cursor.com. Cursor can't cancel an in-app plan for you on request. See Subscribe from the Android app for how to cancel through Google Play. The exception is switching to The X Subscription, which cancels Grok Bot in-app subscriptions (iOS and Android) and refunds unused time as part of the switch.

What happens after I cancel my subscription?

  • You keep access to your paid plan features until the end of your current billing period
  • You won't be charged again after canceling
  • After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan (the free Hobby plan on legacy Cursor accounts)
  • Cancellation does not delete your account or any local project files

How do Teams or Enterprise admins cancel?

Team admins can cancel through the same billing page. Team members won't see billing options; ask a team admin to make plan changes.

If there is an unpaid invoice or an account-state mismatch, cancellation can be blocked until billing is resolved.

What if I don't see a cancel option?

A few account states hide the cancel button:

  • Your plan already lapsed. If your account shows the Free plan (or the free Hobby plan on a legacy account), there's no active subscription to cancel and subscription controls won't appear.
  • You have an unpaid invoice. Billing must be resolved before you can make subscription changes. See the steps below.
  • You're on a Teams plan without admin access. Only team admins can cancel.
  • You subscribed through the iOS app. Apple manages the subscription; see the section above.
  • You subscribed through the Grok Bot Android app. Google Play manages the subscription; see the section above.

If none of these apply and you still can't cancel, contact support with a screenshot of your billing page.

What if I cannot cancel because billing shows an issue?

Use these steps:

  1. Go to cursor.com/dashboard/billing and check for unpaid invoices
  2. Complete payment or retry from Manage in Stripe
  3. If the issue persists, contact support with your workspace name and a screenshot

Can I resubscribe later?

Yes. Sign in to your dashboard and select a new plan whenever you're ready. Your account and settings are preserved.
