Plugins

Plugins give your agent reusable tools and capabilities.

What are plugins?

A plugin packages one or more components:

  • Skills and MCP servers, supported by Agent Plugins and Cursor Plugins
  • Rules, commands, and hooks, available in Cursor Plugins

Plugins work across Cursor desktop, web, and CLI. Cursor also supports Agent Plugins, the open standard for packaging skills and MCP servers, so spec-conformant plugins load in Cursor without changes. Browse official plugins in the Cursor Marketplace. For community plugins and MCP servers, browse cursor.directory. You can also build your own.

How do I install a plugin?

Browse the Cursor Marketplace or search by keyword in the marketplace panel inside Cursor. Agent Plugins and Cursor Plugins use the same installation flow. Install either format at the project or user level.

Marketplace plugins are distributed as Git repositories. All listed plugins are open source and manually reviewed.

Are plugins reviewed for security?

Yes. Every plugin is open source and manually reviewed before it appears in the marketplace. Each update is re-reviewed before publishing.
