# Delete your account

Account deletion is self-serve and permanent.

## How do I delete my account?

1. Cancel your subscription first (if active) via **Billing** > **Manage Subscription** > **Cancel Subscription**
2. Go to [cursor.com/dashboard](https://cursor.com/dashboard)
3. Scroll to **Advanced Account Settings**
4. Click **Delete Account** and confirm

## What gets deleted when I delete my account?

- Your account and all associated data
- Chat history and settings
- Indexed codebases

All data is removed within 30 days.

## What is not affected by account deletion?

- Local project files on your computer remain untouched
- Any code you wrote using Cursor stays on your machine
